Accessibility

Welcoming everyone, with care…

At A Quiet Room we want our therapy services to be accessible to everyone irrespective of any legally protected characteristic (Equality Act 2010). Whilst our premises are based in Edinburgh’s Leith, many of our therapists offer virtual appointments also.

Our building is accessed through a ground level front door from a low-level pavement (and cobbled street) and is accessible for wheelchair users. We have therapy rooms on the ground floor and the first floor. Our ground floor rooms are accessible for those using mobility aids and wheelchair users, and any of our individual therapists are happy to meet with prospective clients to answer any questions about our space and potential access needs. Service dogs are welcome. First floor rooms are accessed by stairs with a handrail only.

Windows can be opened in each of the therapy rooms. If you are highly clinically vulnerable and you would like to request a Covid-19 test before meeting, wear protective masks, and use a HEPA air filter in the therapy room, this can be arranged.

If you have sensory needs, we can adjust lighting, temperature, and what might be made available in each of the therapy rooms, such as no scent, fidget toys, blankets, etc. We provide water, tissues, and options for seating. You are welcome to move around the therapy room in whatever way you need to, and all of this can be discussed with your therapist at any time.

If you have any accessibility needs, please get in touch and we can talk them through.
