What We Help With

Whatever has brought you here, you are in the right place. Our therapists work with a wide range of life experiences and challenges, some very specific, others much broader. Below is a list of just some of the kinds of issues our practitioners can help you with. That said, you don’t have to have a specific reason to start therapy other than the desire to do so. If what you’re dealing with is not mentioned below, please don’t let this stop you to get in touch with us. We will be happy to support you with whatever you’re bringing.

Addiction

Alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, porn, work, phones. Anything that started as a way to cope and became something harder to stop. We help with letting go of shame and to work with what lies underneath addictive behaviours..

Anger Management

Rage that surprises you, resentment that simmers, or frustration you can’t quite express without it spilling over. Underneath anger there is usually something else. Hurt, fear, powerlessness, and therapy helps you meet that.

Anxiety

Constant worry, a racing mind, panic that comes out of nowhere, or a low-grade dread that doesn’t quite go away. Therapy offers you a space to understand what’s fuelling these and to find strategies of settling and soothe yourself.

Boundary Violations and Abuse

Difficulty knowing where you end and others begin. Learning what you’re entitled to and how to hold that. In more extreme cases, past or current experiences of abusive behaviours – emotional, physical, sexual, financial, or coercive. .

Chronic Illness and Pain

Long-term physical conditions shape how you live and how you feel about yourself. We work with the psychological and emotional toll that comes with illness and pain that doesn’t go away.

Depression

When everything feels flat, heavy, or pointless, and the things that used to matter no longer do. We have experience in working with the full range of depression states, from a persistent low mood to something much more frightening and harder to shift.

Disabilities

Living with disability, be it physical, sensory, cognitive, or invisible. The everyday work of navigating systems that weren’t built with you in mind, the impact on identity and relationships, and finding therapy that doesn’t ask you to educate as you go.

Discrimination | Minority Stress

The cumulative weight of microaggressions, exclusion, and being treated as ‘other’. Whether around race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or class, we work with what minority stress does to body and mind, and with the rage, grief, and exhaustion that often come with it.

Disordered Eating

A complicated relationship with food, body, or both. Restricting, bingeing, purging, obsessive tracking, or quieter forms of control that nobody else notices. We work carefully and without judgement on what the eating is trying to manage.

Ethical Non-Monogamy

Polyamory, open relationships, relationship anarchy, or other consensually non-monogamous arrangements. Working through jealousy, scheduling, communication, coming out, or simply wanting a therapist who doesn’t pathologise the relationship structure itself.

Existential Questions

Big questions about life’s meaning, mortality, freedom, being alone. Useful when something has shaken your sense of what life is for, or when the inherited scripts have stopped working.

Fertility Issues

The long, often hidden grief of trying to conceive. Miscarriage, recurrent loss, IVF and other interventions, decisions about whether to continue, and what to do when biology and longing don’t line up. We hold space for the relationship, the body, and the wait.

Grief and Loss

You might be coping with bereavement, or the loss you’re feeling could be related to the end of a relationship, a job, or a chapter in your life. Loss not only means bereavement. There’s no timeline for grief and no wrong way to feel it, but support can make a real difference.

Health Anxiety

Persistent fear about your health, checking symptoms over and over, dreading the next scan or test result, or not being able to trust reassurance. We work with the underlying worry and not just the recurrent symptoms you struggle with.

Identity, Self Confidence and Self-Esteem

Not quite knowing who you are, or not liking who you are. Imposter feelings, a harsh inner critic, or a long-standing sense of not being enough.

Intersectionality

When multiple parts of your identity meet, such as race, gender, class, sexuality, disability, faith, and the world responds to the combination rather than the parts. Therapy takes the whole of you seriously, without asking you to decide which bit to bring.

LGBTQIA+ Counselling

Queer desires, coming out, gender identity, queer relationships, internalised shame, discrimination, family rupture, or simply wanting a therapist who gets it without needing you to explain.

Life Transitions

Moving cities, becoming a parent, changing a career, finishing one, retiring, separating, starting over. Transitions can bring up more than you would expect, and therapy can help you get in touch with what is there.

Loneliness

Not just being alone, but feeling disconnected even among people. Loneliness can show up in crowded rooms, long-term relationships, or after big life changes. Therapy offers one genuine connection while you work out why the others feel out of reach.

Neurodiversity

Living in a brain that works differently from the mainstream. ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or some combination. We work with late-diagnosed adults, those exploring a possible diagnosis, and those who’ve always known.

OCD

Obsessive thoughts that intrude despite your best efforts, and the rituals or mental work that come with them, whether visible to others or held entirely inside. We work with the cycle itself and with what it has been doing for you.

Panic Attacks

Sudden waves of intense fear that come without warning. A pounding heart, tight chest, the sense that something terrible is about to happen. We work with both the panic itself and the anticipatory dread that often comes with it.

Perinatal and Parenting

Pregnancy, birth, the early years, and everything that comes with parenting at any stage. Including the parts people don’t talk about. Ambivalence, loss, difficulty bonding, or your own childhood resurfacing.

Relationships

Struggles with a partner, family member, friend, or colleague. Patterns that keep repeating. Feeling unseen, unheard, or stuck in dynamics you would rather get out of.

Sexuality

Sexual difficulty, mismatched desire, the after-effects of sexual trauma, kink, identity, religious or family-of-origin shame, asexuality, or simply the wish to talk about sex in a space where it isn’t a problem to be solved.

Suicidal thoughts

Fleeting thoughts, persistent ones, or a quiet background hum you have lived with for years. Therapy is a safe place to talk about this openly, without alarm, without shutting the conversation down, and to understand what’s driving it.

Trauma, Dissociation and (C)PTSD

Flashbacks, avoidance, numbness, hypervigilance. It could be that you have experienced a traumatic event or you may have experienced overwhelm over many years, our trauma specialists work with care and at your pace.

Work Stress and Burnout

When work has taken over or broken you down. Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix, cynicism creeping in, dread on Sunday nights, or simply knowing something has to change.
